Approach to EducationThe SABIS® approach is founded upon realizing potential. The foundation is a structured program that emphasizes smart effective teaching, follow-up, re-teaching and active student participation, coupled with tried and tested methodologies that maximize and standardize what happens in the classroom. Contact time between teacher and student is never wasted and each minute is utilized to enhance learning. SIS Adma is no different in this regard and pushes forward its dynamic tri-lingual curriculum using all the invaluable tools and methodologies that SABIS® has to offer. Starting at Grade 3, our courses specify a minimum number of "units of information” that students need to learn. This minimum includes the simple concepts tested by the AMS™ as well as Basic Questions, which test the material that "everyone should know". In addition to this, our courses include extended material for more able students. Details can be provided to interested parents. Students are shown how to study. Those who need support are encouraged to stay for the after-school study, where they receive clear guidance. Students who have attended after-school study have benefited greatly. “No Student Fails in Peace”! Catering for the Complete IndividualTrue to the SABIS® Philosophy, SABIS® International School - Adma is a highly academic, non-selective, co-educational, English-medium, independent day school catering for students from the ages of 3 to 18 years. SABIS® schools provide top-quality education to children of different races, nationalities and backgrounds. We believe we add more value than other systems to students to enable them to perform to the best of their ability, to be admitted to the most competitive universities and be successful in their careers. The school develops students' academic competence, learning techniques, interpersonal skills and personality, in addition to instilling in them, high ethical, moral, and civic values. The multicultural setting of the school helps students develop a better understanding of world cultures. The SyllabusThe syllabus is specifically designed by SABIS® to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in top universities around the world. The system centers for British and American qualifications and yet, every year our graduates join top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, U-Penn, McGill, etc. Class TeachingFrom KG to the highest level, all courses are clearly structured so students and teacher alike know precisely what should be learnt. Teachers teach a point at a time (the SABIS® Point System™) so that each lesson alternates frequently between oral work, individual work and group work in such a way that it is difficult for students to 'switch off'. The administration tests the children regularly using exams that teachers do not see beforehand thus ensuring objectivity. Accordingly students learn more in class, which means they have more time for relaxation and fun after school. Students' Follow-upAll courses are structured. A unique system of academic tracking (the SABIS® AMSTM which is a computerized method of detecting gaps in knowledge) allows the administration to follow closely the progress of each individual. Gaps are pinpointed as soon as they form, and the students’ efforts are focused on eliminating them. Valuable time is saved, and a gap-free cohesive structure of knowledge is built in students’ minds. Those who fall behind in their work are advised and coached until they catch up, and important time-management skills addressed. When necessary, support will be organised outside of the school day, to allow a student to get back on track. The Learning ProcessOnly effective learning stays with us forever and within SABIS®, we actively target a solid and ‘gap-free’ educational foundation. It is clearly understood that memory is divided into two types: short and long-term and SABIS® methodologies focus upon the development of a ‘long-term’ education. The unique SABIS® educational system incorporates regular changes of activity with constant attention to essential concepts. This ensures the development of a solid educational structure for each child. Role of Student Life Organization™The student organization works hand in hand with the staff as one team. Members of the student organization are appointed by the administration for their competence rather than elected by the students for their popularity. This organization seeks to:
The Student Life Organization™ thus ensures that the school produces large numbers of outstanding students who are academically strong, morally sound, mentally sharp and socially aware. |
